Michael Macor, grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He began his career with the Valley Times newspaper, in Pleasanton, Ca. In 1986, Macor joined the staff of the Oakland Tribune, where in 1989 they were awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography for their coverage of the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake that struck the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1992 he joined the staff of the San Francisco Chronicle. During his 29 year career, Macor has covered a variety of events including NFL Superbowls, Major League Baseball World Series, several national political conventions and the war in Iraq and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
